My first trip to the base in 29 years. I hope it's not that long before
I go back. It looks like mountains, but thats the canyon walls. Here we
are 4200 feet below the rim, yet in the flight on the previous page, we
were only 3000 feet above the rim. With no point of reference, it's
very hard to appreciate the size and distance in a photo, but not the
beauty. The canyon is about 4 miles wide here, and just looks like a
valley.
